Please select from the list of services below:

Are you in need of some extra power socket outlets?

Tired of using adaptors and extension leads?

Are your socket outlets generally overloaded?

The increasing demand for today’s modern electrical appliances and equipment means that there is a greater need for additional socket outlets within the home.

Older properties in particular had a standard design which catered for less socket outlets than what is required for today’s usage.

The current BS7671 Wiring Regulations recommends that the following minimum numbers of installed double socket-outlets are used for standard homes:

Room Type Smaller Rooms Medium Rooms Large Rooms
(Up to 12m²) (12-25m²) (more than 25m²)
Main Living Room 4 6 8
Dining Room 3 4 5
Single Bedroom 2 3 4
Double Bedroom 3 4 5
Bedsitting Room 4 5 6
Study 4 5 6
Utility Room 3 4 5
Kitchen 6 8 10
Garage 2 3 4
Conservatory 3 4 5
Hallway 1 2 3
Loft 1 2 3

Since the introduction of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008, it is likely that every socket outlet in a domestic installation will now require RCD protection not exceeding 30mA.
